Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how nwra ("we", "us", the "app") collects, uses,
and protects your information. We take your privacy seriously, and we are especially careful
with health and fitness data, which is treated as a special category of personal data under the
EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who we are
nwra is a health and fitness application. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at
info@nwra.nl. We act as the data
controller for the personal data described below.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: your email address and authentication details, used to create
and secure your account.
- Profile data: name, fitness goal, body metrics (height, weight, date of
birth, sex), activity level, and training preferences you enter during onboarding.
- Activity logs: the workouts, sets, reps, weights, food entries, and body-weight
entries you log in the app.
- Apple Health data (optional): if you grant permission, we read steps, active
energy, resting heart rate, and body weight from Apple Health to show your daily activity and
progress, and we can write completed workouts back to Apple Health. This data is read on your
device to power features in real time.
- Subscription data: your subscription and trial status, managed through Apple
and our payments provider (RevenueCat). We do not receive or store your payment card details —
payments are handled entirely by Apple.
- Technical data: basic device and diagnostic information needed to operate the
app and fix crashes.
3. How we use your data
- To provide the core features: tracking workouts, nutrition, and progress.
- To calculate adaptive calorie and macro targets from your profile and logged data.
- To sync your data across your devices and back it up.
- To manage your subscription, free trial, and entitlements.
- To maintain security and improve reliability.
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
We process your account, profile, and activity data to perform our contract with you (providing
the app). We process health and fitness data — including Apple Health data — only on the basis of
your explicit consent, which you give through the in-app permission prompts. You
can withdraw consent at any time by disabling the relevant permission or deleting your account.
5. Apple Health data
Data obtained from Apple Health is used solely to provide features inside the app. We never use
Apple Health data for advertising or marketing, we never sell it, and we do not share it with
third parties for their own purposes.
6. Third parties we share data with
- Supabase — our backend provider, which hosts your account and synced data.
- Apple — for authentication features, in-app purchases, and Apple Health.
- RevenueCat — to manage subscription status and entitlements.
- Open Food Facts — when you search for foods or scan a barcode, the search term
or barcode is sent to Open Food Facts to return nutrition data. Food data is provided by Open
Food Facts under the Open Database License (ODbL).
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account
and all associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete account). Deletion
removes your authentication record and all your stored profile, food, weight, and workout data.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- erase your data (via in-app account deletion, or by contacting us);
- request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent and object to processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email
info@nwra.nl. You also have the right to
lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Children
nwra is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you
believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the
"Last updated" date above.
